SiMERR Tasmania
has just concluded three years of innovative educational projects in
rural and regional Tasmania. The findings of the projects can be found
in our publication.
We also organized a
summit on June 4th, 2008 to discuss the issues and findings
arising out of the projects with a key purpose of building networks and
partnerships to develop projects further or to initiate new ones. We are
currently looking for partners interested in
developing ideas which will
assist in improving educational outcomes for rural and regional areas in
Tasmania.
Our Vision
SiMERR Australia works with rural
and regional communities to achieve improved educational outcomes for all
students in the areas of Science, ICT and Mathematics so that:
· Parents can send
their children to rural and regional schools and know they will experience
equal opportunities for a quality education;
· Students can
attend rural or regional schools and realise their academic potential in
Science, ICT and Mathematics: and
· Teachers can
work in rural and regional schools and be professionally connected and
supported.
