Abstract:      This project will provide:

Attendance at three ½ day workshops that focus on Investigating the Natural and Constructed World and Inquiry key element outcomes from the Essential Learnings (Tasmania). The workshops will provide teachers with ideas and resources that will assist them to involve their students in conducting their own science inquiries. One session will be facilitated by national CREST (Creativity in Science and Technology) personnel.

This should result in teachers being more comfortable with conducting research investigations in the class room and thus enable them to access opportunities such as the Tasmanian Science Talent Search and SPECTRA.  It will also equip them to support students in more in-depth learning around a particular topic while enhancing their understanding of related scientific processes. There will be no further cost for these materials as they are being made available to the participants as a component of their resources.
